Wow! This cornet was made in Allentown Pennsylvania between 1912 and 1928! William A. Kaempffe was born in Saxony, Germany on Apr. 3, 1848, and died in Allentown PA on Mar. 13, 1931. He was an instrument maker and seller in Philadelphia from as early as 1873. He moved his business to Allentown around 1912 and continued to produce and sell instruments there until at least 1928. This cornet is simply beautiful and in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. There is some minor silver plate worn away at a few high contact areas. Here is a piece of music history from right here in Pennsylvania! It has been thoroughly serviced by out technicians and would sound great for that old time brass band sound.
