Description

Hube Artley formed the Artley Flute Company in Elkhart, IN, during the 1930s. With an innovation that allowed the instrument to be made cheaper, Artley became a successful product for school band programs as well as a well-established and noted professional line of products. Hube and his cousin Don went into business together developing a brand of flutes still being made today.

An interesting fact about this flute,
In 1969 C.G. Conn bought Artley and they moved the Artley manufacturing from Elkhart, IN. to Nogales, A.Z. during the 1970s. Since this flute was made in 1975 it has the Nogales, A.Z. marking on the head joint. Around 1980, Conn ownership changed again and Artley flutes were moved back to Elkhart. The logos engraved on the flutes changed with each move.
